Anand joined Peters & Peters as an Assistant Solicitor in 1999 and became a partner on 1 May 2005. Prior to joining he trained at Lovells and was seconded to the Prudential Plc during this time. Anand has broad experience in dealing with proceedings instituted by the Serious Fraud Office, Inland Revenue, Customs & Excise, Crown Prosecution Service and Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food. He has particular expertise in dealing with extradition and mutual assistance matters acting for individuals, companies, professional firms and governments.
He serves on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Pro Bono Panel, the Law Society's Criminal Law Committee and the EU Criminal Law Working Group of the Law Society. He was a member of a sub-committee of the Law Society's Criminal Law Committee which assisted the Law Society with its response to the proposed reforms to extradition law and procedure which resulted in the enactment of the Extradition Act 2003. Anand was also a task force member of the EU project on "Better Bail Decisions".
Anand is the co-author of Jones and Doobay on Extradition and Mutual Assistance published by Sweet & Maxwell. He has written a number of articles which have been published in legal journals and the national press. He has an LLM degree in Corporate and Commercial Law. He is a member of the London Young Solicitors Group, Transparency International, Legal Action Group, the London Criminal Court Solicitors Association, Amnesty International and the City of Westminster and Holborn Law Society.
